I understand the waiver move, of having too many forwards, and Conacher not being what they have expected of him, but why not Strait? he's been brutal!!!to say the least....they used Ness, Czuczman, and Mayfield last year who played and are a whole lot better then Strait will ever be....and have Pulock waiting to make a start.

This coach is a joke....i beleive that Strait has been on the ice for 13 of the last 15 goals against and took a penalty last night which turned into a Blues PP goal. if that's not a sign to waive a guy, i don't know what is...especially 3 game losing streak with 17 goals against, and than playing CHI tomorrow night who have an 8 game winning streak. This coaching staff is as dumb as they come. i dont care how inexperienced the D prospects are, they are a lot better than Strait. Anything is better as a bottom pair #5 #6 defenceman than this guy.

and half way throught the 3rd period, Capuano put Boulton on the 1st line with Tavares and Okposo? Joke, absolute JOKE!!!....punheiteiros

LOL agreed....its funny how you can notice the difference between Hitchcock and Capuano...laughable!! Bylsma should be on speed dial, but wait, you have to actually pay for a real NHL coach....not going to happen.

Well we still have two guys on IR and that means two roster spots are going to have to be cleared when they come off. Reinhart is the obvious first option because he is ineligible for waivers. That leaves one of Strait/Donovan to be waived to make room for whoever the second, of Boychuk/Hamonic, is to come off waivers.

There is still hope to see Strait waived. The hope being that they recognize how bad his play has been and don't want to likely lose a potential future player, in Donovan, to a waiver claim.

Do you really think Disco Dan is any better? Guy took the most talented team of underachievers, and won the cup his first (non-full) season; every full season since then he managed to turn those superstars into underachievers once more...

But I don't watch the Isles that much; if you say a coaching change is needed then fair enough. Even though I think he's a bit petulant, a guy like Crawford could do well with the gritty-talent that the Isles have.

ALSO, I find it nuts that Conacher has been traded twice and now waived; when he first debuted with Ottawa, people were hailing him as sniping superstar...

Bylsma may not necessarily be the answer, but a change is needed. The team isn't succeeding because of anything Capuano is/was doing. They've essentially failed under him every other season and the one year they actually have been playing at a high level happens to be the year they added scoring depth, two top 4 defensemen, and a legitimate #1 goaltender.

Honestly not depressed because this is a young team that played at a high level but now dealing with injuries and some letdown. Strait and Donovan are still good depth defensemen while Conacher is waivable because of organizational depth at forward. BTW Collberg scored for Stockton and he is playing with Mallett so maybe they will be moving up to BRI.

There are not a ton of defensemen you can acquire and even Leddy was making mistakes and we know Viz goes in and out with injuries or becoming the high priced Martinek.

Still think the young forwards still need to gain experience in a lot of game situations so the tough games add to their learning curve,

CHI at home is next and hopefully the Isles are rested.

Did you just say "Strait and Donovan are still good depth defensemen"? Donovan will be okay and still has potential to be a #6 defenseman, but Strait? i'd rather have Mike Mottau, Steve Staios, or Freddy Meyer...and that's pretty terrible as it is.

problem is they have to make a move 24 hours ahead of time, so we could be looking at getting one of boychuk/hamonic back, and reinhart being sent down, unless they bring back both and put bailey on ir.

They've ruined Reinhart, just like Bailey & Nino.

I dont think they ruined reinhart though he doesnt look that great either way i dont think it has anything to do with him being mismanaged.Reinhart made his own bed with anything that I've heard whether its really true or not is another story. I know its real early and hes a young defenseman and so on but I dont know if hes going to be the player that some expect? Usually you can see something even minute that would give some indication of there being a good player hiding in that inexperience. I dont see anything albeit with a small sample size.

For example I watched pulock and theres no denying that kid has the potential of being an impact player in the NHL. I dont see one iota of that with reinhart. Not saying he wont get there eventually but im not as confident as I once was that its a sure thing but what the hell do I know? I said the same thing about Chara.

Unless they can get a big return I think the best move is to wait with Reinhart and let him develop.

Why didn't Dee mention that Cizikas Boychuck and Hamonic all practiced with the full squad today?? Isles posted that on their twitter before she posted the blog. In other news this is the most comments on a Dee bog in a long time
